GISC 3-day FDP on IPR inspires faculty

“GTU Innovation and StartUp Centre (GISC) Baroda has organised 3 days state level Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) from 9th October to 11th October 2019 at CK Shah Vijapurwala Institute of Management (CKSVIM) PratapNagar, Baroda. On this 3 days workshop more than 25 faculty members from different institutes nearby to Baroda had taken part.

GTU IP EVENT -4In this workshop the faculty from the Anand Godhra – Baroda and nearby districts had taken part. These faculties will be further motivated for conducting the similar programs at their respective institutes, nearby colleges and even at the school students and such faculties will be later on felicitated by the Gujarat Technological University in a Central University event in December 2019.

GTU IP EVENT 2On day one program Mr Krupalsinh Dhabi, Research Assistant Gujarat Technological University has delivered a session on the Importance of IPR in today’s time for the students, academicians, researchers and StartUps.

Intellectual Property of an innovation not only safeguards the rights of the innovator but also gives them the competitive fray in the particular domain. “Intellectual Property Rights are the exclusive rights granted to the owner of the said property for a certain time period for its commercial exploitation subject to the provisions of national laws and international agreements, with a view to reward the intellectual creativity” says SAILAJA SARVEPALLI, a senior IP Attorney from Hyderabad.

Gujarat Technological University (GTU) comes up with most innovative and enterprising initiatives to foster the StartUp Ecosystem. Now GTU is embarking on a “SERIES OF THREE DAYS STATE LEVEL FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS (FDPS) ON IPR/PATENT BY GTU.”

The official notification states, GTU, SSIP & NRDC jointly invites faculty from GTU affiliated, non GTU Colleges and School Teachers to take part in state level 3 days Faculty Development Programs (FDP) to be held at Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot & Surat during October 2019.

The series of said FDP sessions will cover varied aspects on IPR/Patent matters, including of Innovation promotion, Basics of IPR, Indian Patent System, Patent Search, Patent Drafting, IP protection and SSIP Mechanism for patent filing etc including of hands on exercise by eminent subject experts from Industry, Government and Academia.

Surat: 14-16 October 2019

Ahmedabad: 21-23 October 2019

Study material related to FDP will be shared with the participating faculty, then the TRAINED FACULTY MEMBERS WILL BE MOTIVATED FOR CONDUCTING SIMILAR IP SESSIONS ON VARIED TOPICS FOR STUDENTS OF VARIED ACADEMIC YEARS AND DEPARTMENTS AT THEIR OWN INSTITUTES, OR TO OTHER NEARBY COLLEGES OR AT VARIED SCHOOLS to create a larger effect on the ground level, related to creativity, innovation and Intellectual Property.
