Leadership is just not a designation or superiority in hierarchy. It is a mechanism, which ensures frequent flow of Leaders, back to the system.
In an entrepreneurship atmosphere, there are two types of Leaders predominantly the investor or the innovator. In either case, each of them must select a team of co-workers who share their vision and believe their dreams.
The selected team must work hand-in-glove for the enterprise to succeed. The success depends mostly on how strong the Leader is. They need a specific set of traits to motivate the team towards the end goal.
After almost working for over two decades with a cross section of Leaders, a few successful & situational traits are discussed, here.
LEADS IN THE DARKEST HOUR:
A Leader must have a multi tasking mindset. They should lead from the front, as well as be the driving force from behind. However tough the situation might be, they must not let the gravity of the situation slower their team’s pace. Under such prevailing conditions the Leader must inter- discuss with the team while maintaining a grace posture. They must always believe that for every problem, there is a solution and success depends on how fast the solution is discovered.
EMPOWERS EACH INDIVIDUAL OF THE TEAM:
A Leader must closely work with every individual participant of the team while knowing their SWOT analysis. This would help in empowering each of them with the required traits to lead the venture towards success.
ANALYSE, APPRECIATE EACH INCIDENT:
Each end goal must be divided into small tasks and these targets must be given a time frame. On a day-to-day basis, the developments need be analysed for the benefit of the enterprise. Under these routine schedules, the good work done by every individual must be appreciated, openly. This would not only encourage them but also would raise their confidence levels. One point need be remembered is that ‘achievement is possible only if everyone believes in the vision of the Leader’.
DEVELOPS HEALTHY BONDING WITHIN THE TEAM:
The Success of an enterprise depends mostly on how a team bonds. The bonding between members must just not be 9-5 only. There must be extended bonding hours, even out of office hours. They must develop a relationship with every other participant, in order to succeed. Once this phenomenon is developed between the team, success is just around the corner.
ENCOURAGES BACK BENCHER TO EXCEL:
No member of the team is a backbencher, some might grasp fast while other a little slowly. It is the responsibility of the Leader to identify the traits and work accordingly with every team member to assure positive results.
RIDE THE EXTRA MILE TO SUCCEED:
It is your dream and it is you, who has to walk that extra mile to accomplish the task. Remember the road to success is just not a bed of roses. However, I assure you that beyond this point it is a moment of pride and happiness.
