FEDERATION OF TELANGANA AND ANDHRA PRADESH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (FTAPCCI) organised an event to create awareness about business opportunities and promoting trade and investment partnerships between India and Queensland.
The event held at Hotel ITC Kakatiya, Hyderabad on 14 March 2018, had wide participation from the industry. The event unfolded to reveal the resilient and stable economy prevailing in Queensland. As usual, the seminar was hosted by R. KULKARNI, Joint Director, FTAPCCI.
GOWRA SRINIVAS, President FTAPCCI initially addressed the gathering with his knowledgeable speech that impressed the onlookers. For many it was amusing, when he revealed the story of Australia in connection to our mythology, Ramayana.
The story goes that when Rama and Ravana had warfare the weapons they used were devastating. As a gesture to save the human race, they kept their weapons in a remote place known as asthralaya or the place of asthras (weapons in Sanskrit).
Over the period, it became Australia in the present context. He concluded it could be the reason for limited inhabitation in the country, only 1/3 region is occupied.
Well facts are unknown, however the humorous connections between the two countries, since ages, brought out a feeling of satisfaction among the audience.
SUDEEP NAMBIAR, Director Business Development, South Asia of Trade and Investment Queensland, Australia briefed about the opportunities in the region.
He informed the country had a strong economic growth, which has exceeded the national average growth rate for the past two decades. He added that there were many industry investment opportunities.
Listing greater opportunities in the areas of Mining & Resources, Higher Education & VET (Research & Institutional partnerships), Food & Agribusiness, Urban Infrastructure & Knowledge Industries, Water, Healthcare & Biotech.
He also welcomed the entrepreneurs to take advantage of the enormous potential that exists including the Commonwealth Games 2018 at Gold Coast in Queensland.
In conclusion, he added that Queensland is a place where entrepreneurs, industry, universities and Government collaborate to turn great ideas into commercial products and services.
