WHAT HAPPENED TO MY ASSOCIATES WHO SLOWLY FADED AWAY?

ASSOCIATES Well hope you learned a lesson from how I failed in my first innings. During the early days I had a web designing partner who would design the website for me as per my periodic inputs. Next another was a partner too who would look into the info highway and do the PR work for the start up. Everything went well for the starts. But one by one started dropping after I started failing. The PR lady was busy with a regular job and could not deviate time at all, so ultimately I took up that extra burden on my shoulders. Then the gentleman from the web designing side lost in the process too. On the whole I received cold shoulders from all my associates. But undeterred I moved forward alone in search of my dreams. Then came a point after one year of starting, that I hit upon a big boulder like the Costa Concordia and I sensed that my ship was sinking.

This is the point, when I started slowly analyzing my follies. The main reason was that I had ample time on hand and the huge rolls of printed stationery was scarring me and giving me a weird look. This is when I realized and listed my mistakes and today I feel I have done something right at least. If not successful, why should I let go my knowledge in experience. Now sounds intelligent, but then I was literally in jitters. The list begins like this:

  1. I never made a business plan and especially did not mark ways of revenue generation had some ways funds flowed in, then the interest would not have died out, amidst my associates.
  2. I knew nothing about SEO or Keywords or any other online marketing tool. Neither did my so called web designing partner advise me on any of them. Because net has a wider base of audience and to cater them was hassle free. This ideal thought slipped my tiny brain.
  3. Legwork…. Legwork….. Legwork…. Extensive legwork was what I knew, since I hailed from a traditional background.
  4. I had utilized most of the initial funds in print and stationery which today look like a heap of waste procedure.
  5. After a long time or presumably just before closing down I realized the potential of Google adsense. But by then I had already marketed some advertisements from my old clients. Having a decade of advertising background behind me, I thought it would be fine if I put a regular print media disclaimer. This initiative and already existent advertisements on my site disqualified me, from getting any PPC ads. So that drove the last nail in the coffin and I closed down.

The reasons why I put this before you guys, is that you must ward yourself from these pitfalls and move forward in your venture successfully. Lost money gave me gyan to better my record this time. From now on, there no looking back.
