This non-profit initiative has its roots in Boston way back in 2006, has successfully spread across 28 cities in 13 countries and the local chapter is quite successful in nurturing cohorts from ideation to scaling up with out-of-the box strategies guided by in house stalwarts who are reputable experts in the ecosystem.

As a part of its endeavour to foster acceleration in the ecosystem, SLP Bengaluru conducts annual demo day event. This has evoked excellent response from all domains of the StartUp Ecosystem while yielding positive results to participating founding teams.

This year the magnum opus is to witness participation from more than 50+ prominent investors, 20+ Startup Founders, 100+ influencers from the StartUp ecosystem – entrepreneurs, SLP alumni, corporate houses, accelerators and national media.

The list includes Matrix, Sequoia, Saif, Stellaris, Inventus, Phanindra Sama etc. Moreover, Rajiv Srivatsa, Founder UrbanLadder is going to be the keynote speaker. YourStory is our Media Partner, while Way2World is the coverage partner.

With the shadow of upscaled and glamour startups from Bangalore, the startup race has too many obstacles to overcome. There is no better way to tackle the hurdles than finding like-minded startup founders.

The Startup Leadership Program is a highly curated community driven offering that accelerates the growth of the founders. The nonprofit organisation was founded in 2006 in Boston and has since has expanded to 26 cities in 12 countries.

The well-rounded SLP Bangalore cohort has been running since 2011. Last year, 29 highly motivated individuals were selected to be a part of the Bangalore cohort. The Startups come from varied domains like AgriTech, FinTech, CleanTech, Sustainable lifestyle, IoT based, Enterprise, AR, AI focused and healthcare. The Program Leaders focused on diversity within the cohort to amplify cross-pollination of ideas.

The following startups are part of the current cohort – AIndra Labs, Criador Design Labs, ShareAnBuy, Mesha Energy, Picanva, Campus-Live!, GingerCup, amita.ai, WrightInk, Green Mantra, Bizex, DeepSight AI Labs, HappyLocate, Member Centrum, Fasal, AmbuCare, Oxy.Fitness, igloo.ai, and Saveo.in.

This Thursday, April 4th 2019, marks the culmination of SLP Bangalore Cohort with a gala Demo Day – Uprise 3.0. 25 Co-Founders will pitch their startups to 70+ investors at Nasscom 10K startup warehouse.

The event is sponsored by L&T. Rajiv Srivatsa, the co-founder of Urban Ladder, will deliver the keynote. The mega event will host investors from Sequoia, Saif, Matrix, Stellaris, Accel, Orios, Barclays, Sprout Capital and Inventus.

SLP offers a six-month program focusing not just on the idea but the founder. During these six months, the fellows meet on every two weeks for roundtable discussions or lectures with industry leaders, VCs and mentors.

SLP Bangalore has also included startups from other SLP cohorts across India. The application for the next cohort will begin in a few months.
