INTERNATIONAL MSME CONCLAVE 2018 HIGHLIGHTS THE ROLE OF WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN BOOSTING THE NATIONAL ECONOMY

NI-MSME organized the International MSME conclave 2018 on the eve of International day for MSMEs in association with Telangana Government at Auditorium on 27th June 2018. Co-partners for the Programme were SBI, Yes Bank, WE-AIM & Care Ratings.

Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary, ITE&C & Industries Department, Government of Telangana was the Chief Guest for the programme. Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS during the inaugural address highlighted the initiatives of Telangana Govt and Digitizing the MSMEs. He also stated, ‘MSMEs need to adopt new technologies in order to sustain and reach the global market.’ He also appreciated NI-MSME for organizing this event and providing one stop solution for MSMEs through their Services.

During the Event, Dr. Sanjeev Chathurvedi, Director, NI-MSME highlighted ‘NI-MSME contributions towards the promotion & development of MSMEs.’ He also highlighted the new programmes initiated to promote entrepreneurship among the aspiring entrepreneurs.

The whole day was jam packed with briefings by eminent personalities. They were Dr. Raj Agarwal, Director, AIMA, Ms. Vatsala Mishra – OSD, to Principal secretary, Industry and Commerce, Govt. of Telangana, Mr. Saravanan, AGM, SME, SBI, Mr. Saikat Roy, Director, Head of SME Division, Care Ratings Limited, Mr. Asheesh Maroo, National Credit Manager, Yes bank, Mr. Awanish Sinha, Professor, Amity University and Ms Sreedevi Devireddy, CEO, SR Innovation exchange, Telangana.

This was the first session and they briefed on various subjects like Central & State Government Schemes, Bankers Support to MSMEs, Key issues in MSME Ratings, Challenges for MSMEs.

However, the takeaway was the motivational speech by DR. PAWAN AGARWAL, CEO (Chief Educational Officer) MUMBAI DABBAWALAS on Customer Service Commitment. He gave insights into the precision and dedication that has helped the 127 years old organization survives flawlessly and gained undisputed international repute.

Every word uttered by this stalwart, impregnated an indelible impression on the participants. He clarified that they work on four principles, Work Is Worship, Customer is GOD, No alternate to Hard work and Importance to Human Values. He further briefed that the DABBAWALAS story reassures the importance of Passion, Commitments, Consistency, 100% Accuracy, Dedication, Time Management and Complete Customer satisfaction. These are crucial factors for the success of any enterprise.

The final session was a Panel discussion with a theme of “Women, Entrepreneurship & Innovation” and Youth Dimensions”. This session was handled deftly by another set of eminent personalities that include Dr. Shanta Thoutam, Director – Innovation Cluster at T-Hub, WE AIM team –  MS. Geeta Goti & MS. Deepthi Reddy, young entrepreneurs like Phanisree and Manasa.

NIMSME discussion

The discussion inferred that more women should take up entrepreneurship as an activity as the nation has almost 50% of women and nearly 60% of them were homemakers.

They expressed that huge human-power was underutilized and if put to better utilization could yield potential results that could take the national economy to different heights.

Concluding the discussion the main take away was to see more women in the policy planning departments, so they could frame women-friendly initiatives that would encourage women entrepreneurship in the country.

Total 300 participants comprising prospective and existing entrepreneurs, NGOs, Financial institutions, Marketing agencies, Industry Associations attended the event.

Total 60 women entrepreneurs exhibited their products & services during the event. The programme was coordinated precisely by V. Swapna, Dr.Vijaya, Dr. Visweswara Reddy Faculty Members of NI-MSME.

However Dr. Sanjeev Chathurvedi, Director, NI-MSME’s conclusion charged the audience enthusiasm. He announced that impressed by the day’s events proposes to give 100% fee waiver for ten children of the MUMBAI DABBAWALAS for the next academic program on entrepreneurship. He added that the offer would be available for 10 women entrepreneurs from WE AIM, too.
