FACEBOOK ACQUIRES TAGTILE, RAMPAGE ON MOB APPSFrom Silicon Valley to San Francisco………………..Next could be India

Entrepreneur News:

Facebook seems to be on a hunt for companies to enrich its portfolio before going into the IPO next month. The latest buyout by the social network giant is TAGTILE. The Indian Founders ABHEEK ANAND and SOHAM MAZUMDAR of the loyalty apps were on the lookout for spreading their   wings and Facebook made an undisclosed irresistible offer. Both the companies confirmed the deal. “We’re happy to confirm that Tagtile’s founders are joining Facebook, and that Facebook is acquiring substantially all of the company’s assets,” the world’s leading social network said in reply to an AFP inquiry.

TAGTILE created a system that lets customers use iPhones or Android-powered smartphones to check in at shops and get rewarded with discounts, coupons or loyalty points. “We started Tagtile with a simple goal, to help local business owners build better relationships with their best customers,” the founders said in a post at the company’s website. “We are happy to announce that we are joining Facebook,” they continued. “It is an opportunity for us to take our goal and do it on a much bigger scale than we could have on our own.”

As Way2World had earlier said the Mobile apps area is one place where the trending is right now favoring. People had scored us down when we said that Indians are not going to miss out. Nevertheless, it goes on to prove that the deal though in San Francisco did have its roots in India. The life is now restricted to Smart phones and Tablet PC’s and this is where the future is heading. Once again we advise Indian start ups that the call for acquisition or merger could not be faraway for your enterprise if there is a sound idea backed up by a strong desire.
